Students who participate in French Theatre: “A Body of Wonder” Clown, Mask, and Voice Training will live in two very different environments in France. For the few days in Paris, students will be housed in a youth hostel (two to three students to a room). Space will be at a premium! The second and longer chapter of the program takes place at the Tapis Vert in La Lacelle France, an extraordinary location in the southern Normandy countryside of France, a small village where there are more trees than people.

The Tapis Vert is a secluded country theater and inn located in Northwestern France not far from the towns of Alençon and Le Mans. A unique retreat site, dedicated specifically to creative ventures, the Tapis Vert includes several small, independent houses with bedrooms, bathrooms, living rooms and kitchens. A few of the houses have pianos, some have televisions, and most have open fireplaces. There are two large theater spaces for classes and rehearsals. The Tapis Vert is nestled in the forest in a beautiful area called the “Alpes Mancelles,” and it is part of the national park of “Normandie Maine.”
