Concluding Thoughts:

The Digital Performance Group was a wonderful, eclectic bunch of people got together to make digital performance because they wanted to. We were not funded or supported in any major way—with the exception of the Dance Department who lent us their space, for which we all thank them. Everyone involved gave of their time, skill, equipment, and creative talent. Through the making of the piece previously unconnected artists, technologists, and performers learned to work together in a collaborative spirit that was sometimes amorphous, some-times push and pull, but often very exciting and fruitful.

We devised our own framing concept, text, sound, video, animation, dance, and worked combining these facets into an integrated whole while working on multiple fronts, working from our own perspectives towards meeting points. This was not an easy venture as we did not fit any pre-existing molds and had to educate ourselves and each other along the way, but it was perhaps the most worth while thing I have done since coming to the campus almost five years ago. I finally was able to give back and bring the campus a taste of digital performance (including projectionist costuming, animated scenery, motion sensing, digital video bodies, online performance) and most importantly a new model of egalitarian collaboration.

Thank you again, to all involved. You are all amazing.
